Ellie, Vaughn, Octavio, and Anu enter the Arena with Torgue's Forge Blast! In this update, we take a look at the unique skills they bring to your game.
In Torgue's Forge Blast, Mister Torgue’s loaders have run amok in the arena, and it’s up to you to stop them in this explosive, scenario-packed campaign expansion. Torgue’s Forge Blast includes four new Vault Hunters thrust into the arena, let's kick the tires and see how they play!
Ellie
Ellie is a tough, grease-stained mechanic with a big heart and an even bigger ride. Whether she's building death machines or crushing bandits under monster tires, she’s always got your back.
Ellie’s Catch-A-Ride ability lets her scoop up fellow Vault Hunters in the same zone, toss 'em in her rig, and drop 'em off like a badass bus driver—no ticket required, just hang on! Players who coordinate their turn with Ellie can hitch a ride and save their energy for blasting baddies with attacks instead of spending actions on movement. Plan it right, and she’ll turn every road trip into a fast-track to mayhem!
Ellie’s Tech Wizard ability means she crushes every Tech Skill roll unless she totally biffs it with a Fumble. She can easily pop open any Ammo Chest, Loot Chest, or Mailbox like a pro and grab the goodies without breaking a sweat. Some grenades require a Tech Skill roll, which means she’ll automatically succeed on those attacks as long as she doesn’t Fumble.
Ellie is a blast to play because she helps make every Vault Hunters’ turn into a joyride of destruction. Catch-A-Ride helps save precious actions for attacks and Tech Wizard makes her a looting machine.
Octavio
Octavio is a streetwise hacker with big dreams and even bigger schemes. Having more confidence than common sense, he’ll turn small problems into explosive adventures!
Octavio lives for the drama, so most of his action takes place during the Enemy Turn, after a Vault Hunter suffers a wound from an attack. Octavio can gain the Spotlight to be the center of attention for enemy attacks. Then, with his ability Octavio Swagger [RE]act by gunning them down with GREEN ranged attacks.
Octavio is fun to play because he flips the script and steals the show during the Enemy Turn. He wants the Spotlight, drawing enemy fire so he can [RE]act with attacks and turn pain into payback. With Anu keeping him healed up, he can keep jumping into the fray again.Talk about teamwork with flair!
Anu
Dr. Anuradha Dhar is a brilliant scientist with a mind for tech and a heart full of hope, determined to solve problems with brainpower over bullets. Armed with her high-tech glasses and a moral compass, she’s out to change the world whether it’s ready or not.
Anu’s primary ability This Won't Hurt a Bit lets her spend Health tokens to patch up any Vault Hunter she can see. Once she taps into her Inspired Genius, she can even swap in Ammo tokens for emergency healing on the fly. And thanks to her Medical skill of 1, each Health token can stitch up one extra wound. Science never looked so lifesaving!
It’s also worth noting that Health tokens aren’t just for healing wounds; they can heal harmful elemental tokens. For every wound you don’t heal, you can remove one elemental token instead. If a Cryo token has you frozen like a popsicle or you’re feeling the burn from an Incendiary attack, Anu can help turn the heat (or chill) off in no time.
Anu works best when used as team support. The Handoff action allows you to give (or take) Loot tokens from other Vault Hunters. The more Vault Hunters work together, the more Anu can stretch those Health and Ammo tokens into full-on miracle moments. Team up, trade smart, and let the healing science begin!
Anu might not be slinging bullets or fists as proficiently as other Vault Hunters, but don’t count her out. Her GREEN Action tokens are often better than a few measly points in Ranged or Melee. Who needs brute force when you’ve got brains and better dice?
Vaughn
Vaughn is a former pencil pusher accountant turned “Bandit King” with rocking abs and a new attitude. This zero-to-hero is ready to charge headfirst into chaos—shirt optional.
Bring It On lets you reroll failed defense rolls. This is perfect for those “oh no” moments when you’re wounded with all RED Action tokens. This is also really useful during the times when you Fumble to avoid the enemy from adding insult to injury with their Fumble effect. While the Accurate keyword also allows you to reroll, it’s mostly for attacks, so getting a do-over during defense is a rare and powerful way to dodge disaster. That makes Vaughn the perfect hype magnet to share the Spotlight and taunt enemies into coming after him. He’s built to take the heat and look awesome doing it!
Vaughn’s offense ability, 130 LBS of Fury, lets him Charge into a melee attack, giving him a free burst of movement before throwing hands. Getting free movement gives you an extra action to land the knockout blow to the enemy. This fast, furious, and face-breaking combo is even more powerful when you team up with Ellie to put you in the middle of a good brawl.
Vaughn’s offense and defense abilities is a fun mix of reckless heroism to keep things interesting!
