Maliwan Bots have run amok and it's up to you to bring them explosive justice. In this update, we take a look at some of the bots coming in Maliwan Crime Busters.
Maliwan Crime Busters is overflowing with duty-bound bots. In a previous update we took a look at the new Crime mechanic and Vault Hunters coming in the expansion. Today, we take a look at some of the bots you must bring to justice. You feelin' lucky? Let's get to it!
Deputy Bot
Deputy Bots are law-enforcing Hyperion constructs programmed with an overzealous sense of justice and zero chill. They’ll fine you, judge you, and shoot you—all before you can say “due process.” Deputy Bots may be tin cans with badges—low Defense, low Strength—keep your head on a swivel.
Take out too many up close and their Self-destruct Protocol might just turn you into scrap metal, so keep your distance unless you enjoy explosive surprises.
If you roll a defense fumble against a Deputy Bot, you’ll get bumped to the top of their Most Wanted list and slapped with the Spotlight. Already in the Spotlight? Then brace yourself, outlaw—you're taking a wound for your crimes!
Medic Bot
Medic Bots aren’t much of a threat on their own—low Strength, low Defense—but leave them alone and they’ll patch up every bruised baddie around.
Their Shock attacks can fry your shields, so if you’ve got any left, make them your top target before wasting bullets on the big guys. Fortunately their weak Defense makes them good targets during a Fight For Your Life.
Billyclub Bot
Billyclub Bots are melee machines that go full riot-mode during a Special Order, bashing every Vault Hunter within reach. They’re fairly easy to scrap with just two hit points, but don’t get cocky—their Call for Backup can summon more baton-swinging buddies, though if luck’s on your side, you might score some bonus loot!
Fire Bot
Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and where there’s fire, these bots come charging in with axes swinging! They’re brutal up close with savage melee strikes, but don’t let your guard down at a distance because they can throw their axe as a ranged attack during Special orders.
Whether they’re swinging their axe or throwing it at you, their hits can slap you with Cryo tokens that freeze you in your tracks. This doesn’t inflict wounds directly, but being an ice sculpture in front of angry bots? Not ideal. Pro tip: you can use a Health token to shake off those icy effects instead of patching up wounds, as anyone can with any elemental effect—sometimes thawing out is better than healing a wound.
Recycler Bot
Recycler Bots can become even more dangerous if you don’t take them out fast. If their shields are up when they get a Special order, they spit out Bit Bots like candy from a busted vending machine. Even missing an attack or whiffing a defense can trigger more Bit Bots, turning one Recycler into a whole swarm of miniature mechanical monsters. Sure, that might sound like easy targets for Fight For Your Life… but play it wrong, and you’ll be knee-deep in explosions with nowhere to run.
Recycler Bots are fun to face because they crank up the chaos with every turn. Their ability to flood the board with Bit Bots creates a wild mix of strategy and panic—offering tempting chances for revival, but only if you can survive the swarm they unleash!
Bit Bots
Bit Bots may be small but they’re wired for chaos by zipping around the arena, disrupting your plans with their glitchy tricks. Don’t underestimate their size; these digital devils can overload your systems and swarm you before you know what hit you.
Bit Bots don’t bother with punches or bullets—they just sprint straight at you and explode in your face for one wound! On the bright side, they’re basically walking piñatas during a Fight For Your Life, making them perfect for a quick revive (and a satisfying SPLAT).
