Tanaka Knocks Ya!

Today, I want to discuss Tanaka, one of the Leaders available to the Arasaka faction. Wait, who did you think I was gonna cover today? Smasher? Nah, I’m pretty sure he’s just a story parents tell little Edgerunners.

The real scary isn’t some cyber-boogie man but a ruthless corporate shark, Tanaka. At 20€$, he takes less of your budget than paying a Team Lead (the other Arasaka Leader option). When this company man steps in to do things himself, he tends to keep it on budget. He’s also got a pair of GREEN actions and 2 armor, so he’s starting off with strong actions and a resilient profile.

His skills might surprise non-viewers of the Netflix series, but he’s got a mean punch. Tanaka’s got +2 Melee, Tech, and Influence. Couple that with a cyberarm cyberdeck, and he can serve as your team’s Netrunner with those skills.

Tanaka has a very important special ability: Authority. Whenever you Inspire Your Team, he summons a free Gonk to the battle. Yes. It’s that good. Now you need to have enough Gonk models (we give you 6 acrylic StandUpz in the box), but remember they are just Gonks. As good as this sounds, your opponent won’t usually have too much trouble clearing out your stream of disposable fools. So don’t Inspire Your Team too often!

Lastly, Tanaka’s got a Needle Barrage attack. It’s a ranged attack with a short RED range. It’s got Deadly Crits and Pierce 2, which is a great start to consistent damage. However, it attacks every target within RED, friend and rival alike! It can clear out gonks rapidly and even take down an armored nose I MEAN FOE.
