Our Organized Play kits (Coming Soon) bring exciting tournament play to local stores! Designed for up to 10 players in a three-round Swiss-style event, each kit requires either Cyberpunk Limited Edition 20ft Containers or MFC’s Monster Scenery 20ft Containers. These containers will then hold the prize cards for each round, adding an extra layer of strategy to the game.
At the start of each round, the Tournament Organizer shuffles 10 gear cards, places two face-down cards inside each container, and positions them at the center of the battlespace. The first player to reach a container may spend an action to equip one of the gear cards, keeping it for the rest of the game and permanently adding it to their collection. The opposing player may equip the remaining card during play or claim it after the game ends. Each kit includes three identical sets of 10 gear cards, one for each round. These cards are all new and feature a special graphic treatment exclusive to Organized Play.
In the final round, basic Character cards are also introduced. After placing the gear cards, the Tournament Organizer adds two random Character cards to each container. The first player to reach a container selects one gear card and one character card to keep, while the opponent claims the remaining ones. Character cards are not used during play, and their matching Veteran versions are acquired from the Tournament Organizer after the event. Like the gear cards, these Character cards are brand new with unique graphic treatment and are designed to be used with existing figures. Some offer additional ways to field figures initially released as specialists and leaders without being specialists or leaders.
For larger tournaments, organizers will need one additional box of containers and one extra Organized Play kit for every 10 additional players.
Box contents
30x Gear cards (3 copies of 10 Gear cards)
20x Character cards (2 copies of 5 characters and their veteran versions)
While these kits support three rounds of Swiss pairings, they do not designate an official tournament winner. Tournament Organizers are encouraged to structure their events as they see fit, including naming a winner if desired. However, MFC recommends allowing all participants to continue playing regardless of their record, fostering a focus on community and camaraderie rather than competition. The priority is fun, and TOs are welcome to charge an entry fee to cover costs and support the hosting store.
Organized Play kits are only available to stores carrying Combat Zone and to our Fixers. If you’re interested in participating, let your local store or Fixer know. If you’d like to become a Fixer, contact MFC’s customer service team at customerservice@monsterfightclub.com to see if you have what it takes to join our loyal and dedicated Fixer program.
