Tiny Tina’s Big Bangs: A Guide to Badonkadonk Brilliance
Welcome back to the arena, Vault Hunters.
In this article, we’ll explore potential Skill Tree builds for our lovable little maniac, Tiny Tina! There are two versions of this Vault Hunter available in different products. One version is in the Box of Badasses, but this article is going to focus on the version from the Trouble Bundle, which is also available at the Monster Fight Club online store. We may cover Tina’s other version in another article, but this version features her Badonkadonks ability with the Mushy Snugglebites Skill Tree.
At the start of the scenario, you can place three Badass tokens anywhere in the Arena to represent her stuffed bombs. After all, enemies complete a Move order, you may choose to blow up any Badass tokens to have all models in the same zone suffer an Incendiary attack with a strength of 2D8.
One tactic is to place Badonkadonks close to spawning zones but not directly on them. Placing directly on a spawning zone won’t be as effective because the enemies will get a chance to move out of the zone before you can blow them up. You can activate bombs after a Move order, so placing them one or two zones away on a path towards Vault Hunters is usually a better option. Look at the average move value of enemies that will spawn in that zone based on the scenario.
Another tactic is to place Badonkadonks in an adjacent zone where Tiny Tina is likely to take up a good ranged attack position. This allows enemies to move adjacent to Tiny Tina to make a melee attack and then blow them to smithereens at the end of that Move order before they even get a chance to attack!
The reference image shows the path for four levels, with a Skill token placed next to each of the chosen abilities.
Tina’s first level unlocks the ability to place four Badonkadonks instead of three. While this gives you an extra explosive surprise for the enemy, it’s still important to use each bomb for maximum effect. Only hitting one enemy is probably not worth using up a limited Badonkadonk, so just have patience and wait for the right moment of attack.
Her second level allows you to place a new Badonkadonk whenever you take out an enemy by rolling a Crit. Rolling Crits is no easy task, but what helps this ability succeed is using Explosive attacks with rocket launchers and grenades. Targeting a full zone usually takes out an enemy with one hit point left and weakens the other models for the next attack. If you get an opportunity to upgrade your rocket launcher with the Accurate keyword, you can get a second chance and try to reroll a Crit.
Tina’s third level lets you move a Badonkadonk up to three zones during her activation and then blow it up if it enters a zone with an enemy. This gives you flexibility in the placement of the bomb and the timing of when to use it for maximum effect.
Tina’s fourth level allows her to heal a wound and immediately take a green action for free after she takes out an enemy with Badonkadonks. Healing is almost always useful, but taking an extra green action is a huge advantage. This could give you an extra attack to take out enemies with a Crit and combo with her second-level skill to place more Badonkadonks. Using a green move action may be useful to pick up a bunch of Loot tokens. Ammo tokens are vital for Tiny to reload her explosive attacks since most rocket launchers are Ammo Guzzlers, and grenades are always Out of Ammo after use. If Tiny collects several rocket launchers during a campaign, the Gun token is useful to swap out an Out of Ammo weapon with a loaded gun that’s ready to fire.
A final tip for playing Tiny Tina is that one of her starting pieces of equipment is the Quickshot Pistol. While this weapon is like a peashooter compared to her explosive rocket launcher, the Pistol keyword allows you to use your Ranged Skill to defend against melee attacks. This comes in really handy when defending in close combat because Tina doesn’t have any bonus to her Melee Skill but has a good Ranged Skill.
Tiny Tina may be small, but her explosive potential is massive. With careful bomb placement and the right Skill upgrades, she becomes an absolute terror in the Arena. Whether you’re using her crit-boosting abilities or healing up while raining chaos, Tiny Tina’s versatility makes her a blast to play. So, get out there Vault Hunters, place those Badonkadonks, and watch the fireworks fly!
