Find Psycho Singles In Your Area!!!
Ahoy Choombas!
You’ve asked for it, and we’re getting the ball rolling on it… single models! I know, right? If you’re transforming into that GIF of the little girl in the yellow rain jacket tearing into cotton candy… then you feel as I do. So, I thought for my blog today, we could talk about doubling up on models in your team and, of course… some fun Cyberpsycho shenanigans to build fun encounters for you and your crew!
If you haven’t checked out our Free Cyberpsycho rules, now’s a good time! These aren’t competitive tournament additions, but they are a ton of fun to rip into some PvE. Combined with our initial release of single figures, these rules give you an easy way to add a model that might not normally fit your faction.
When you put a Cyberpsycho on the table, you have a few choices for what Cyberpsychosis card they will use. Each of these is designed to introduce a different level of difficulty, depending on what model you combo with, creating a wide range of difficulty options that aren’t just on a sliding scale!
First, we have the Bloodthirsty Rampage. Since this Cyberpsychosis card puts the Cyberpsycho into melee fights, the most important difficulty modifier is the Melee Skill of the model. Most special abilities, and even weapons, aren’t used by the Cyberpscyho, as they simply lack the synergy opportunities of team models. The Solo Bodyguard is one such option. This slick operator has three actions and a 2 Melee. Another great option is the Solo Stalker if you prefer that model. These are both Mercs as well, so you can use them with your existing teams.
Next, we’ve got Emotionless Slaughter, the ranged Cyberpsychosis. Again, we’ll be ignoring many of the model's special rules, as the Cyberpsychosis card improves the model’s basic ranged attack above most weapons. But if you want an extra challenge, have the Cyberpsycho use their ranged weapon anyway, and add the extra keywords the Cyberpsycho card would give to the basic attack. This makes just about any model with a gun extremely deadly. This can be a really fun challenge if you’re putting a Prankster or Tetra on the table. Regardless, you’ll want to look for a high Ranged skill and a Reflexes to go with it to up the challenge.
Terrified Flight splits the difference, with the Cyberpsycho attacking in melee if a target is too close and ranged if they are far away, but they also like to move. This makes GenRED, like Izzy and the Lookout, particularly interesting. It also works well for adding chaos to a competitive game, as the frequent movement from this Cyberpsycho card makes them tough to predict. For this, you’ll want plenty of Reflexes, as the Cyberpsycho is likely to parkour.
Lastly, we’ve got Wildly Erratic. As you can imagine, this one lends itself to a lot of crazy. Grab your purplest d4 and be ready to watch a model act weird. For this, I recommend multiple Daring Techs, as their ability to use Tech instead of other abilities (but with Dangerous) adds to the mayhem. When using a card like the Daring Tech, it’s easy to up the difficulty (or randomness) by using their abilities whenever possible… even when it might not be the smartest move for the psycho!
We’re launching with 19 singles, with an eye towards making more available in the near future. So take a peek at the list, and see if you match with any!
