2070s Gear Deck

The Cyberpunk Edgerunners: Combat Zone pre-order is live and already an amazing success. It’s time to double down and expand the Collector’s Edition with even more gameplay content! 

Each week, until the end of the pre-orders on May 15th, we will reveal a new gameplay upgrade that is exclusive to the Collector’s Edition. The upgrades will provide you with new options designed to increase variety and replayability of your games. Our first upgrade is a 36-card 2070s themed Gear Deck.

In the Cyberpunk Edgerunners: Combat Zone Collector’s Edition, you’ll also get a 2077 gear deck. This bonus Universal Gear deck is designed to add new guns, armor, and other gear that is available in the 2070s, such as Tech and Smart weapons.

Smart weapons are just like standard weapons and are usable by everyone, but they get an advantage when the wielder is also equipped with a smartlink. For instance, the G-58 Dian by Kang Tao is a Rapid 2 SMG, but it also gains Accurate in the hands of a smartlink equipped Character.

Tech weapons can be charged for more potent effects. For instance, the Militech Ticon is a pistol with Pierce 2, but if you spend an additional Action token when you attack, you can increase the Pierce value to 3. You might not always want the option, but it’s nice to have when a Heavy Response Suit is giving you a hard time!

The deck contains 36 cards that range from 0 to 6 Street Cred. These additional gear cards will help to enhance the options available to both the Arasaka and Edgerunner teams for 2-Player campaigns, as well as providing additional options for larger 4-player campaigns that the Collector’s Edition enables.
